Petzl Tibloc Ultra light Ascender is a small rope clamp for emergencies. The Tibloc will stand-in for many rope clamps/grabs as well as self-jamming knots. It can be used to set up a pulley system, climb a rope, or haul a second. At just 39 grams the Tibloc should be in the emergency kit of everyone who plans a vertical adventure. For use on single ropes from 8 to 11 mm.

The Shunt is Petzl's mechanical version of a Prusik hitch or self-locking knot. It locks onto either a single rope or double ropes of the same diameter and holds well on icy and muddy ropes. It's ideal for backing up a descent with a Figure "8" or other device. The SHUNT frame must be held to descend. It locks off if the hand is removed. Individually tested to 5kN. For double ropes from 8mm to 11mm and single ropes 10mm to 11mm.

Designed for climbing fixed single ropes from 8 to 13 mm. Highly functional handle: ascender can be installed onto the rope one-handed (with ergonomic thumb catch), elastomer protective sleeve for comfort and thermal insulation.
