The Regular Scoop features a structural shape that is unique to SOS manufactured shovels. The engineered design of the area where the handle joins the shovel body transfers bending stresses further down into the main portion of the scoop. This means more digging power when it is needed in the time constrained avalanche rescue scenario.

All shafts are made from aluminum and are capped with an impact resistant T-handle. The Basic is a simple collapsible shovel with detachable shaft. The Regular shovel features a telescoping shaft that adds an extra foot to the shovel length. The Deluxe shovel has a telescoping shaft that houses a 30cm wood saw inside attached to the T-handle. The new Pro version telescopes as well but houses a longer, stiffer and more aggressive snow saw. The Probe in Handle features an 8' probe and weighs 20oz
